This report maps out the plans for this committee for the new rotary year.

Aqua Boxes.

Since the dreadful events in the pacific this club has risen to the challenge to help unfortunate families affected by natures awesome power. It is my intention to continue to help enable the club fill as many boxes as possible and contribute to the UK stockpile of Aqua Boxes.

Last year the club launched a “100 club” lottery draw with the sole purpose of raising funds for Aqua and Shelter boxes. To date we have sold 68 tickets and are on target to raise over £800 a year. It’s my intention to continue and to try and push the total tickets sold to 100 plus.

With the blessing of Barry and Liz we may be organising a Aqua box filling party. Invitations will be extended to all “100 club” members and other major donators. This will enable all those that have contributed to see how the boxes are filled and to even take part.

Stamps/Printer Cartridges.

The committee will continue to collect stamps and promote printer cartridge recycling. Both will contribute valuable additional funds to the East Anglian Children’s Hospices.

Adult Literacy.

In support of Rotary International’s commitment to raise awareness of this subject, Reepham Rotary is committed to do what it can to help locally. We have registered with the BBC Raw campaign for adult literacy.

Contact has been made with Brigitte Morton who works for Norfolk County Council who is going to help plan a number of literacy events in Reepham. These will be primarily targeted at children but with the aim of trying to get the whole family involved.

East Mentoring Forum – Mentfor CIC.   Basically, this a literacy mentoring project and District has requested each club to contribute £100 per year for three years to fund the annual cost of £9600. This will have to be debated by the club before we send a response to District.

Rotary foundation.

As leading international charity that has combated many issues, not least the campaign to irradiate polio, this club will continue to offer support through its fund raising activates.
